(view spoiler)[ I wouldn't choose either. Both are devil women and I couldn't imagine people being so mean to each other and other people as well! Channary burnt her own sister, Levana killed her own husband. Both weren't made to love, I think. They were both so inherently damaged beings that they just couldn't respond to any kind of love- be it friendly love, sisterly love or love of a partner's. Channary was probably changing after motherhood but that was short-lived. How sad it is!

I haven't been around much this last week. Just saw your comment. I won't be able to read it, I guess. My reading has fallen to an all time low and March is going to be a spectacularly bad reading month for me, I guess. :(

Purvika, (view spoiler)[ It is interesting you mentioned that maybe because of Landon, Jamie was able to live longer because I was thinking similarly. I keep feeling that before Landon, Jamie was empty. She spoke nicely to people and they did the same but there was something missing. She knew that her classmates found her weird, called her a freak and somewhere down the line, I'm sure that must have affected her in some way. Deep down inside. But when Landon came around and when he feel in love with her, she started to see that some people really loved her just the way she was. No conditions put and no questions asked. (hide spoiler)]

Ishita, that is probably from the movie but the book was really sweet and absolutely adorable. Both are truly special even though they had some differences. Landon really changes himself only for Jamie and it was so lovely to go through!

I loved Landon's narration in the story. Very easy-going but not too casual. Also serious and heartfelt when required.

Purvika, (view spoiler)[ That is indeed nicely written. A miracle does change your life. Be it little or big, Jamie and Landon probably changed each others' life.

I say Landon changed Jamie's life because, even though others might not agree with me, I will say that he was the one who showed her what true love is really about. The love that the Bible talks about. I was so happy when I saw Landon become the person he became under Jamie's influence but I was equally happy when Jamie mellowed and became more comfortable around Landon and when she started accepting his love and her own feelings for him. What a lovely story! (hide spoiler)]

I have seen the film and I really enjoyed it! It didn't do complete justice to the book but that helped me enjoy the book more because the story was different and I didn't know the direction the story was going beforehand. I like it when that happens when I haven't read a particular book. Not so much when the film version is of a book I've read and loved, though.

I think both the movie and the book are good in their own right and I really liked them both.

I think this was the one thing that they both had in common. They both had a parent that they had lost in some way or another. This probably made them value each other more because they both knew how it felt.
