189072 I just got done reading this. (I happened to already reading it when the voting started) I really like reading true crime and it was interesting reading it in novel-style. I liked it a lot! I thought the part where he explains how the murders took place was scarier then a typical true crime story because of this style. It seemed like most of what Capote wrote was from Perry Smith's perspective. I haven't watched the movie, but is there a reason for this? Did Dick Hickock just not want to do interviews?

It looks like me and Cheryl have the same literary tastes! I usually go for a children's classic if I'm looking for a comfort read and The Secret Garden happens to be one of my favorites! I also like to reread the books I read when I was a child the Harry Potter books or anything by Roald Dahl .

Also, like Cheryl if I am in a reading slump I tend to turn to non-fiction to get me through it. They are easy to get back into even if you haven't picked it up in awhile. Two I have recently read and loved were Jim Henson: The Biography and Behemoth: The History of the Elephant in America

189072 I loved this book! Like lethe, I also disliked Esther at first though. Near the middle I really started to relate to her a lot more. I've had depression off and on from age 9 and I found her description of how it feels so honest. It also goes into depth about suicidal thoughts, which most books I've read gloss over or avoid completely. Which I think is completely understandable, but I also feel it is important to have accurate descriptions like this one of that sort of mindset.
