Arkham, Massachusetts. Founded in 1666 by Roger Phelps and William Derleth just north of Boston on the shore of the Miskatonic River, from which the local University got its name, Arkham has always been the center of strange and unusual happenings. The name itself comes from the local native dialect denoting the negative spiritual activity which haunts the Western Hills. Cults litter the town's pasts, along with the mysterious disappearance of the Native America tribe - dubbed the Miskatonics -
