What did. I just. Read?

Forgive me if this review sounds muddled. It likely is. I'm sitting here in cold shock attempting to work through the emotions and reading-induced adrenaline this book evokes. I want to squeal and bawl at the same time.

Ahem.

The Mermaid's Tale is a the story of Locklyn, a Mermaid without a tail. She is an outcast in her society because of this. When her niece is also born without a tail, Locklyn decides she needs to find the money to send her niece to Atlantis, the society where Mermaids without tails are not shunned. She and her best friend/brother in law, Darin, set out on a daring adventure to find a vast treasure that will solve their family's problems.

I’ll be honest. That ending thoroughly ticked me off. I cannot believe I didn’t expect that cliffhanger!!! Now, I don’t have anything against cliffhangers, but oh, my gosh. I was not ready for that one. 😭

You’ve been forewarned. The Mermaid’s Tale has a brutal cliffhanger, and Lord only knows how long we’re gonna have to wait for the next book in the duology. *shakes head* Now, about the rest of the story…

Another Enclave success! I really enjoyed this story, and the audiobook was well done. Be ready with The Locket’s Revenge, though—it’s a cliffhanger ending!
