This didn’t tickle my fancy. Maybe V.E. Schwab just isn’t my cup of tea. Although well written, I found the story boring and struggled to keep going. I mean, was there even a plot? The characters and their backstories were interesting, I just need more... A lot more.

I absolutely adored this book. If I could give it six stars I would. It is a dark, heart-pounding story, and listening to the audiobook just makes it even better. There is a lot of hype around this book, and it is worth every bit of it. It is a long listen - over 18 hours, but it is well worth the time. You won't regret a second of it

I really wanted to love this. A sapphic vampire story steeped in lore, with historical settings, found family dynamics, and complicated Lestat-esque relationships sounded like everything I’d enjoy. But while it was decent, it never quite swept me off my feet.
