Juani | 199 comments Hey! I need someone to talk about this INCREDIBLE series
Im reading them for the first time
Now I’m in Tower of Dawn and I URGENTLY need someone to give me motivations to read it, it’s very slowly…
Can we also talk about the end of Empire of Storms?! Like what the hell!!
Please someone appear so we can discuss many things!!!!! I need it!!!

Noa (semi ia) ˚୨୧ | 7 comments NOOOO KEEP ON READING IT ITS SO GOOD

message 3: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments throne of glass lover here🙋🏻‍♀️
push through Tower of Dawn it gets much better towards the end and so many questions get answered. I am of the minority who loves Chaol and I loved his growth and development that he goes through in the book.
Aslo that ending in EOS was WILD!!! My heart was in my throat the whole time! I was panicking so hard lol

message 4: by Noa (semi ia) (new)

Noa (semi ia) ˚୨୧ | 7 comments yesssss chaol

message 5: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments omg you like Chaol too!?!?

message 6: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments (SPOILER FROM CROWN OF MIDNIGHT)At the beginning I loved Chaol and I felt really sorry for him because like he wasn’t 100% guilty from Nehemia’s death, yes he could’ve tried to stop it but it wasn’t entirely his fault. But during the next books he was acting like.. I don’t have words for it and I started not hating him but like meh… I don’t really care too much about him now and I prefer reading what happened after EoS!

message 7: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments (SPOILERS FROM THE BOOK UP TO TOWER OF DAWN) I totally understand. I wanted to punch him so many times throughout Queen of Shadows but I kinda took it as him trying to figure out where he fits in the world and in the group. he was molded to be the perfect soldier and always has this blind faith and trust in the king and in the things he "knew" to having the floor pulled out from under him. like with finding out Dorian has magic and Aelin not only being Aelin but also fae. as the only human he most definitely got a rude awakening and it becomes more apparent in Tower of Dawn especially when Yrene tries to heal him.

message 8: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments I promise things start to pick up once you into the hallway mark and so many questions get answered, and they kinda find a way to defeat the valg/Erawan.
in my first read of the series I did a tandom read of EoS and ToD it was brutal but I liked how it all flowed since both books take place at the same time. so I went through trauma at the end of EoS and then the high stress from the end of ToD

message 9: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments Ahhh ok perfect!!!
Tysmmmm
You finished all the book series?
How do you rate it?
Is it true that KoA is COMPLETELY devastating?

message 10: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments Who is your favorite character????
Is it normal that I didn’t LOVE heir of fire? Like I see so many people loving it and I considered it not the best.. like it was a little messy with all the new characters but it doesn’t mean that it’s the worst. Like what I mean is that I like it but I didn’t love it. I believe that Queen of shadows and empire of storms were better

message 11: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments yes I finished the whole series and I honestly give a 10/10. I read all 3 series she's written and ToG is the best imo.
KoA ABSOLUTELY BROKE me I cried every time I read it. if it wasn't trauma and pain it was the gang getting back together, or unexpected moments that move you.

message 12: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments picking my favorite character is so hard cuz I love them all so much. but honestly it's probably Manon, Rowan, or Elide (aside from Aelin cuz she's just a badass)
I want too crazy about HoF either. It took me a while to get into it, cuz same I felt like there were too many new people introduced but I love the second half and ending. it kinda tied everything together nicely. QoS WAS SO FREAKING GOOD! I loved everything about it!!

message 13: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments So how would you rank each book of ToG?

message 14: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments I loved the enemies to lovers thing between Aelin and Rowan!!!!!!

message 15: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments EoS SPOILER: “It was all just borrowed time” and when I truly understood the meaning of “The Queen who was promised” ABSOLUTELY destroyed me. R u telling me that KoA is going to be worse than that?

message 16: by Tabitha (new)

Tabitha Rose | 2 comments Came to read this thread because I just bought the first book and I’m about to begin it. I’m so exited, everyone seems to love it.

message 17: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments Prepare yourself because you are going to read a real masterpiece✨🔝🙌💯

message 18: by Vorheesacker (new)

Vorheesacker | 11 comments ahhhh im reading TOG for the first time right now too! Started KOA last week but Im taking a little break to catch up on my TBR/don't want it to end

message 19: by Vorheesacker (new)

Vorheesacker | 11 comments I am also in the Team Chaol camp! I feel like Im in the minority where I found him really meh at first and just liked him more and more as the story progressed. Like, let my boy catch a break

message 20: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments @juani ummm so I rate pretty generously so for
Assassin's Blade 4/5
Throne of Glass 4.5/5
Crown of Midnight 5/5
Heir of Fire 5/5 (I really fell for Rowan)
Queen of Shadows 5/5
Empire of Storms 5/5
Tower of Dawn 4.75/5
Kingdom of Ash ♾️ (it's that good)

message 21: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments wait until you understand the meaning of "nameless is my price"

message 22: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments @Vorheesaker Make sure you have emotional support snacks and a comfy blanket and many many tissues. Kingdom of Ash is quite literally a journey and at the end I felt like I was saying goodbye to my best friends.

I love Chaol so much. Even in Queen of Shadows when I wanted to punch him it was like when your friend is being really stupid you just want to slap some sense into them. I really started to love him and his character during the Tower of Dawn though, his healing journey and character development is so amazing. and to be real every character in the series has some amazing character development.

message 23: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments I love this series so much I can write a whole dissertation on it with a PowerPoint presentation to go along 😅😅

message 24: by Sara (last edited Jul 06, 2025 09:03PM) (new)

Sara Cherry (saracherry86) | 1 comments I've just finished ToG and looking forward to working my way through the series.

message 25: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments @alexa yeah that also broke me!!!
SPOILER:
Is it the one that like nameless = Brannon’s mark
And as Aelin have the mark like it shows that she is the one that has to be sacrificed?? Or is there something worse??

message 26: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments @alexa heyyyy that’s a great idea!!! Make a PowerPoint and share it here!! (If you want and have the time of course)

message 27: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments @Juani yes that's the one but I think there's just a little more to it that happens in KoA (I might be wrong and just combining two things together) but it has to do with the wyrdgatss

I might cuz I can literally talk about the series for hours 😅
My aunt just started the series and I'm reliving the journey through her lol. it's also killing me not being able to say anything because she's literally on Assassin's Blade right now so she is just starting her journey

message 28: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments And how would you do a list of better to least better of the ToG series?
Like:
1. (Book)
2. (Book)

message 29: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments What can be a controversial topic to talk about?? I want to talk about the series!!! But don’t speak anything about KoA because I’m in ToD (Chapter 8)

message 30: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments oooo fun! okay so for me I think
1. KoA
2. QoS
3. ToD
4. EoS
5. AB
6. HoF
7. CoM
8. ToG

message 31: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments I think one of the most controversial things I've noticed within the community is the order in which to read the series. some people believe you should read Assassin's Blade first, some believe you should read it after CoM or HoF. some people even go as far as splitting up the novellas and Assassin's Blade and alternating between a novella and one of the main books.
When I first read the series I read Assassin's Blade first and personally I'm so happy I did. I'm the type that likes to know who the character is and have an understanding of who they are, and I feel it just really helped me understand Celeana so much more and it made it feel a little more emotional as well (SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST FEW BOOKS) like when she talks about writing the Asterion horses in the desert, for every time she says I will not be afraid. I feel it also made her healing journey in HoF more impactful knowing her backstory

message 33: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments I used to work at a bookstore so anytime I would recommend this series I would ask if they like knowing who the character is and having a pretty basic understanding of who the character is starting out or if they like flashback episodes/aha moments when everything finally starts to piece in. and then depending on their answer would it be which book I would recommend they start on and when I think they should read AB

message 34: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments I really like your ranking!

message 35: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments Yeah that’s true! A friend recommended me the series and told me to read AB after CoM. I believe now after I read it that it would have been better to read AB first and then the others. It’s true that I didn’t completely understand the significance of “I will not be afraid” after I read AB

message 36: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments I also like knowing better the characters and reading their developments and healings!!!

message 37: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments lol thaaanks I love them all so much but I think vibes, story and emotional impact that's a pretty good ranking.
When customers would tell me they like a flashback/aha moment I would recommend to read AB after CoM too, just cuz I feel it flows better, doesn't take you out the the story like too much, and helps set you up for the journey Celeana goes through.

message 38: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments my aunt started the series and started with ToG and messaged me this morning that she's 10 chapters in and is so confused. so I was like did you read AB first? she had not so I told her to stop reading ToG and to read AB first, cuz she's like me in wanting to understand and know the character

message 39: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments Ahhhh
And what about which do you think is the best couple from ToG?

message 40: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments my favorite couple is Elide and Lorcan I don't want to saw much cuz it'll spoil for KoA but that man GROVELS and then maybe Aelin and Rowan or Yerne and Chaol (their tied for 2nd place)

message 41: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments Ahhh
It’s normal to hate Lorcan? LIKE
SPOILER FROM EMPIRE OF STORMS: He told Maeve everything and betrayed Aelin. I’m sure that he and Elida will returned but I can’t understand it since what he did in EoS.
I really love Rowan and Aelin, but I believe it was like too much information in EoS… like was it really necessary?…
But I LOVE those phrases that they include like in moments before chaos like those are the best!!!
Yrene and Chaol I don’t know really, from what Im reading they are just normal, like she hates him a little less but there isn’t love between them, not even friendship

message 42: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments lol yeah that's normal and to be expected cuz he royally fucked up at the end of EoS SPOILERS FOR EMPIRE OF STORMS he called maybe for a reason but didn't expect things to go the way they did. but trust that man GROVELS throughout KoA and Elide is a fucking queen I love her.
I love Chaol and Yerene for what they are and do for each other, their story is of healing and growth. they both carry so much hurt and shame and find grace and acceptance in each other. I think the way their relationship grows is beautiful

message 43: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments I definitely agree that there was like an information overload in EoS

message 44: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments Do you prefer Lorcan & Elide than Aelin & Rowan? Why?

message 45: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments *Lorcan & Elide or Aelin & Rowan?

message 46: by Vorheesacker (new)

Vorheesacker | 11 comments 👏 Lorcan👏 and👏 Elide

I haven't even finished KOA, so Im waiting for the official get-together but I am feral.

message 47: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments I love Aelin and Rowan and the bond they created but I knew they were gonna be endgame from the moment we met Rowan. it was like expected that they would end up together because of how it was when they first met and how their story panned out. your typical enemies to lovers with a training arc. I love what they were able to do for each other and help each other through their traumas which was reflected in the other person. they're like mirrors of each other and I think that's really beautiful.

message 48: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments but with Elide and Lorcan I feel like they're love was unexpected. in Queen of Shadows Lorcan called Rowan stupid and weak because he was in love/falling in love with Aelin. when Lorcan meets Elide they kinda see each other as a means to an end. she needs him for protection and he just wants to get information out of her, but as time goes on and they start learning about each other the become kinda friends and then start falling. and I believe Lorcan fell first and he fell hard he didn't even realize he was falling for her until he had already fell.
Elide brings out his softness and he brings out her courage and strength

message 49: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (readscape1128) | 140 comments he spends all of KoA trying to atone for his fuck up in EoS and get Elide to forgive him. and I love when a man grovels lol.
there is a scene in KoA between Lorcan and Elide at had my heart in my ass. I was was feeling all the emotions; stressed, panicked, relieved, sobbing.

message 50: by Juani (new)

Juani | 199 comments Ahhh
Yeah that’s completely true!!
And what do you think about the bond between Dorian and Manon???
