What Members Thought

Every once in awhile, I encounter perfect. Reading The Night Circus, the real world melted away and I was entranced (for lack of a better word). I was sucked in immediately. Honestly, I have not had a book hit me like this since the first Harry Potter I read. I didn't just want to read the book, I wanted to LIVE in the book. I almost wish I could erase it from my mind and read it again for the first time.

A fascinating read set in the night circus. Good characters and a the most amazing scenery to imagine . A joy for a reader who is a dreamer too.

As the man in the grey suit says at the end, regarding all stories: "It's in the listener, and for each and every ear it will be different, and it will affect them in ways they can never predict. From the mundane to the profound." This book did affect me, and I loved it.
I'm not sure what the intense hatred toward The Night Circus in some of the other reviews is about. Maybe it was the billing of the book as "fantasy" that was misleading, or maybe it was advertised too much to YA/paranormal roman ...more
