"Every house has a story. Ours is a ghost story".
This was an interesting story that is actually two stories. One is the story of now - a father has passed and a daughter is coming back to the house that has haunted her since childhood. Not because it is filled with ghosts, as her father and his book claimed, but because the book her father wrote painted how everyone knew and saw their family.

Maggie and her parents move into an old house in Vermont when she’s 5. They stay for 20 days then leave in the middle of the night, taking nothing. Her father writes a book about their haunting experience. Now her father is dead and she goes back to the house to work out what’s fiction and what’s the truth.
This was awesome! It had creepy haunted house vibes in spades but ended up with a mundane explanation - kinda like a Scooby Doo episode. Excellent writing. Loved it!
