This book, oh this book! Where do I even start? Well… Claire is from 1945, but mysterious circumstances hurls her into 1743, but not just anywhere, nope into the Scottish Highlands surrounded by wild Scottish men. I had a hard time getting into this story the first time around. Then I started it in a buddy read and really gave myself over to it and am surprised how much I enjoyed it.
Claire sometimes got on my nerves, but she ended up being a strong and fiercely loyal woman, who epitomizes the phrase "Stand by your man". Jamie, although younger than Claire is a man. *4.5 stars* This would have been a total five star book if it had not been for the pacing issues at the end of the novel. Other than that I absolutely LOVED the novel and I cannot wait to see where Gabaldon takes Jamie & Claire's adventures/ love story!

A bit longer than it needed to be, but the romance in it was really good...and I'm not even a big fan of romance!
