I'm the author of this book, so I'm not going to do a rating but I did want to take just a moment to say a few words about what I was trying to do in this book.
For those who don't know, I wrote all six books in the series before publishing any of them (truth be told when I wrote the books I had no intention on publishing at all). This allowed me to weave threads between the books, but I made sure that each title had its own conflict and resolution. My intention was to start small and end big, wi ...more

So Theft of Swords is actually a bind up of two novels, The Crown Conspiracy and Avempartha. It follows the adventures of swords for hire, Royce Melborn and Hadrian Blackwater.
My main struggle with this book is that neither of the stories really delved deep enough for me to invest. Every so often a scene would catch and hold my attention, but it was a bit of a roller coaster on my end.

Re-reading this so I can continue and finish up the Riyria Revelations series. Listening to the audio this time around.
Excellent reading to an already excellent book. Tim Gerard Reynolds really makes the characters come alive, and his narration is spot on. Even though I've read this book a couple of times already, I found myself eagerly looking forward to picking up the earbuds and listening in on Hadrian and Royce.

1st read 3/2019 5 🌟
My reread was just enjoyable as when I read for the first time.
Enjoy Hadrian and Royce friendship. From bad guys to good guys doing bad things. But for a reason.
I'll continue to reread the rest of this series. Pull me out of a slump from sucky books.
2nd reread 4/2023 still 5 ⭐ ...more

I loved this!! I just finished and was absolutely bummed that it was over already. It was not a short book as this was a combination of the first two books in the series...but I was that involved in the story. I am so glad there are more books! This is great fantasy. An interesting Kingdom with some unique scenarios that lead to some great epic adventures. Best of all, it is filled with fabulous characters....two in particular.....Hadrian and Royce. I just love these guys. I became extremely att
