What Members Thought

I really had a hard time putting this down even though in my opinion I would not consider it a thriller. It's been quite some time since reading the second book (although for the life of me I can't recall why I would have read the second before the first in a series!) and I believe I enjoyed this one much more than White Nights. Raven Black is the first book in the Jimmy Perez series. Set in the Shetland Islands, Ann Cleeves envelops the reader in the foggy, claustrophobic environment. Winner of the Duncan Lawrie Dagger award in Great Britain!
"Raven Black" is suspenseful from beginning to end. It is a understated suspense having each page reveal another layer of clues.
It takes place in the Shetland Islands which is a mystery in itself.
A fascinating read! The author has penned two more books to follow "Black Raven".
