I really had a hard time putting this down even though in my opinion I would not consider it a thriller. It's been quite some time since reading the second book (although for the life of me I can't recall why I would have read the second before the first in a series!) and I believe I enjoyed this one much more than White Nights. Although the story entertained me, it was a little too 'drawn out' and lacked depth. Some of the characters didn't convince me. I'd enjoyed others in the series so was a little disappointed.
Also there are quite a few annoying typos - something in the scanning, I think, as several 'b's were given as 'h's, and there was some punctuation missing.

Winner of the Duncan Lawrie Dagger award in Great Britain!

"Raven Black" is suspenseful from beginning to end. It is a understated suspense having each page reveal another layer of clues.

It takes place in the Shetland Islands which is a mystery in itself.

A fascinating read! The author has penned two more books to follow "Black Raven".

It was a good mystery but at times I felt like they were dragging things on about topics that where already covered.
