Ah, Ms. Rardin. You have finally delivered unto me an action-packed story with a plot that makes sense and characters that possess depth. And with One More Bite, my reading this series feels justified.
This book is filled with twists and discoveries that kept me reading well through the night. Don't get me wrong I LOVED the story, the humour, the growing relationship between Jaz and Vayl, Cole's eventual acceptance that he can't have Jaz but there was one thing that left me a bit flumoxed. Jaz's dad Albert, he never discovers that Vayl is a vampire. He overhears that Vayl's a vampire a few times, he even sees the evidence for himself, Jaz hints at it as well but he never realises it. It's been a long time since I read the previous book of this series so I'd forgotten its trademark atmosphere and action. The mystery of it keeps you guessing along with the protagonists who the bad guy really is - or which of them the mission is about, anyway.
Jaz is slightly psychotic and she knows it. Her internal monologue (or even dialogue, since she's got several people living in her brain) is very entertaining and her one liners are pretty damn funny at times.
