Boy oh boy, what a book this was! I already knew about Jon's death and Cersei's walk of shame because of the media fervor surrounding those two events, but I was largely in the dark about all the other plot lines and I'm glad I was. Unfortunately I think was definitely the weakest book in the series. Very little actually happens in the various story arcs (except in the last 50 pgs) and there are so many different point of view I kind of stopped caring and started skimming. Even doing that it took me months to read because I would put it down for weeks a time. Martin's editors seriously need to step it up. I hope the fame of the tv show isn't ruining Martin's ability to write great books.

This book was brilliant. I love all the surprised, good and bad. Seeing Jon and Ary and Danny and Tyrion, what happen. Then, thankfully it went on from book four's time period, too. Bringing us more surprises and cliffhangers.
