Oh my, I loved this book. I loved the characters, the descriptions, just everything about it. I want more books like this one and more authors like Suzanne Palmer.

I enjoyed this one. Basically a gang war in outer space, the protagonist is a glorified repo man with a talent for survival and a big load of guilt he's been running from. Point of view stayed on him but I thought he had a tolerable personality. Aliens are present, and mostly appropriately alien to us. Hyperspace travel without too much fuss. The main focus was in the asteroid-based colony and an outsider coming in to disrupt the balance of power. There were surprises I did not see, and good dev

I liked Fergus's name, and his habit of innovating. I also liked his arc; at the start he felt guilty for mostly the wrong things and kept a lot of himself stuffed down. Slowly he learned the difference between ducking connections and avoiding pain; he learned not to take responsibility for other people's choices but also that he could do that by treating them with respect, not just by avoiding them. And in the meantime he came up with a lot of fun schemes.

A breezy, fantastic Space Opera. The science is a little heavier than I'm used to, yet Palmer never forgets to keep her dynamic characters and light tone at the forefront. This was a delight.
