Frankly, I've always thought that this critique was way too whimsical. All it did is invited contrarian criticism, instead of making sense.
Comrade Napoleon, seriously? I'm sure the original Napoleon would've had kittens (or maybe even dragons) after reading this stuff. Anyway, Napoleon and comrade and totalitarianism? Someone skipped a lot of history lessons (or/and had horrible textbooks, maybe?).
PS 1. I just noted that this one was published in 1945. Basically, the way I see it:

I’ve been postponing this book for a long, long time mainly because of the political context that it’s famous for. Finally, I decided to read it, and I dare say I enjoyed it a lot. It’s a simple story full of irony, symbolism and satire, indicating Orwell’s disapproval of the communist system. Real masterpiece! The allegory makes it a multi-layer novel, suitable for both children and adults.
