I recall reading this book at the start of summer one September, just as the book starts. It was a wonderfully colourful read - one that had a surging presence that sucked me into childhoods past and whet my appetite for the summer to come.

If I were to guess, I'd say this book tastes like the summer wind mixed with a coke float from the soda shop down the street and grandma's best pie. These words were absolute magic and took me back to that simple time that has been long gone now. I loved each story in this short book and really wanted to take my time reading each one, savoring the feelings I had. I especially adored the between Bill Forrester and Helen Loomis.
