We'll read a total of 7 books for each Reading Sprint. A book for 2 days. The books will be read in the order of the highest votes and so on (or whatever order they'll be written in the next comments). Participants will update their progress each day after reading the book and each book will be discussed on the day that it's read.

You'll update your progress the same way you did for other challenges (e.g. if you read 5 books of out 7-you're progress will be 5/7).

Don't forget to add spoiler tags!

Participants and Books will be mentioned below:

P.S. It's okay if you don't have all the books. Participation is what matters :)
We will try to provide free download links for books though.

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 149 comments I’ve started Fahrenheit 451 and it’s way more intense than I thought it’d be. A lot better actually. I also thought it would be a little dated, but seriously, it’s not at all! So glad I’m reading this one!!

message 19: by read it twice (last edited Jun 02, 2019 06:20AM) (new)

read it twice Ok so I am done - Really liked this one, this is a live one! Also loved the thoughts it provoked on the review feed. This was very basic still timeless. Did I just defined Classic?
Also Aqsa loved your review. Can't wait to see what others have to say.

read it twice Also, there is a Fahrenheit 451 movie but it has pretty bad rating, has anybody seen it? Would love to see it but am afraid it might not be good.

Oh I watched the movie when I last read the book. To be honest, it was alright (the end was good). Not extraordinary as I wanted but there was a new movie coming too. I have not watched 2018 adaptation though it does have a bad rating. I watched the 1966 (was it?) Movie.

Please do not forget to update your progress as you finish reading books. Do mention the book number (i.e., 1-7) that you read.

message 29: by Suki (last edited Jun 02, 2019 10:46PM) (new)

Suki St Charles (goodreadscomsuki_stcharles) | 98 comments Fahrenheit 451 is another one of those books that I've been meaning to read forever. I'm really glad I finally did. It's pretty intense to imagine living in a world where owning books will get your house burned!

My progress so far is 1/7.

I've read Three Men in a Boat before, and really enjoyed it. I'm going to reread it for the sprint.

It's nice to have two days for each book. It's not hard to finish these books in one day... unless life gets in the way, as it so often does.

message 32: by Aqsa, Dracarys! (new)

Aqsa (her_747) | 10619 comments Mod
I'm glad you think so, Suki :) Life does get in the way and this way, there is less pressure and more relaxation. Also, we can easily finish a book to be free to read the next one and not miss any.

message 33: by Shannara (new)

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 149 comments I finished Fahrenheit 451 last night and loved it!! Like you said Aqsa, so many great messages.

I've started Three Men in a Boat and I'm not so sure about this one yet. I'm only like 36% of the way done so far, so maybe I'm just not into it yet.

Progress: 1/7

message 35: by Suki (new)

Suki St Charles (goodreadscomsuki_stcharles) | 98 comments I love Three Men in a Boat, and my edition is illustrated, which makes it even more fun. I was reading it in the waiting room at the doctor's office today, and I finally had to put it away because I kept laughing out loud and I think it made the other people in the waiting room uncomfortable. :-D My favorite scene in the whole book is the part when they are packing/repacking for their trip.

Progress Update: 2/7

I am reading it too, and loving it, I've not read much yet but the whole thing about seeing symptoms of every disease possible is soo me on webMD. This work has aged well. Very funny.

I am currently reading Three Men in a Boat and I found out that I have actually read an extract from it in my college. It's the part about diseases. It's really fun and I'm loving how true it is of daily lives.

The part about the diseases is so funny, too, and I love how the three of them are constantly trying to con each other into doing all the work while trying to do as little as possible themselves.

message 40: by Shannara (new)

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 149 comments Finished Three Men in a Boat and I liked it, but didn't love it. I think I was expecting it to be hilarious or something lol... So really, I think it was just me.

Progress Update: 2/7

I've started Dandelion Wine and it's good so far. The copy I'm reading has an intro from Ray Bradbury and I love when he says, "Bees do have a smell, you know, and if they don't they should, for their feet are dusted with spices from a million flowers." Such romantic writing!!

Suki St Charles (goodreadscomsuki_stcharles) | 98 comments I love Dandelion Wine, it makes me homesick for a place I've never been, and a time before I was ever alive. My edition has beautiful art by Tom Canty, that wraps around the book. Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury . I'm also going to read Farewell Summer, that Bradbury wrote roughly 50 years after Dandelion Wine. It is also set in Green Town and has Douglas Spalding in it. Summer Morning, Summer Night is a collection of short stories set in Green Town.

Progress Update: 3/7.

message 44: by Shannara (new)

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 149 comments Still working on Dandelion Wine, but I'm listening to The Chalk Man, so I'm also working on that one. It's really creepy so far!! It reminds me of a combination of Stephen King and Ray Bradbury, which is strange because we just happen to be reading Dandelion Wine now lol... I need to catch up so I have enough time to read the rest of them!!

Still reading Dandelion Wine and I'll start Country of the Blind today too.
