The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is a book that I had put off reading for a very long time as I had seen a review which said " It would change my life" and I tend to stay well clear of books that think they can change anyone’s life.
This is a very short read, and reads like a fable but for me it was a book of nonsense and to be honest I hate books that preach and this is exactly what this one does.

I've been wanting to read this one since ... time immemorable and whenever I try to, like, crack it open, smth jumps up and gets me away from this book and books in general. I dunno, is it stars conspiring against our union or what?

One of the most perfect parts of the book is the introduction written by Paulo Coelho about his masterpiece: The Alchemist

The first time I read it I didn't like it at all but then I gave it a second chance I liked it more. Still, this is not among my favourite books but it's not bad.
