Rather a different take on the whole vampire hunter thing. Dru, a hunter (sort of), is sixteen and totally alone when her father is killed. This is her coming of age story. The only question is "what is she"? No one, including Dru really knows. Strange powers keep manifesting and she doesn't know why or how this is happening to her. Werwulfen (and a few other weird creatures) seem to be after her and her friend Graves (another loner from school who seems to be homeless).

"No problem, Dru. First one's free."

This was an interesting story but not mind blowing. We spent so much time wrapped in Dru's head and not enough outside of it that the story drug on and on. I liked the addition of Christophe and Graves but Dru was so internal that I don't feel like we got to know them much.

There was also a lot to take in with this book. Werewulves vs Loup-garou, Revelle, Suckers vs Svetocha/Djamphir - I know most of these references and words but this book italicized all of th ...more

Supernatural with a girl!

The world is dark and frightening, there are creatures from nightmares everywhere but only few know of them.

Dru and her family is on of those few. I have to admit, I did not like Dru. Her father is a hunter and the book begins with him going off on another hunt.
