I really enjoyed this book. I felt drawn to Charlie, because my childhood was of a similar vein. I appreciated that despite his social awkwardness he was able to have friends and live his life. I really enjoyed the fact that Charlie was a book lover. What I didn't love was all the smoking, drinking, and violence in the book. ...more

If not for this being a book club pick, I would not have read it, nor would I have finished it. The issues are real for kids today, but I didn't really care too much about the main character, though I tried. ...more
