Y con Their Fractured Light se cierra el círculo que se inició cuando la nave Icarus se estrelló en un planeta, aparentemente desierto, en el que dos adolescentes, Lilac y Tarver (<3), no sólo tuvieron que aprender a sobrevivir, sino que descubrieron una conspiración interplanetaria que iba más allá de 3’5★

Y con Their Fractured Light se cierra el círculo que se inició cuando la nave Icarus se estrelló en un planeta, aparentemente desierto, en el que dos adolescentes, Lilac y Tarver (<3), no sólo tuvieron que aprender a sobrevivir, sino que descubrieron una conspiración interplanetaria que iba más allá de lo que podían imaginar…

Como he dicho, el círculo se cierra, y las autoras lo han hecho extremadamente bien. A través de dos nuevos (o no tan nuevos) personajes, Sofia y Gideon, seguimos inmersos dentro de la trama general de LaRoux Industries que envuelve la trilogía Starbound. Al igual que los protagonistas de los anteriores libros, los nuevos tienen sus propias historias y sus razones para inmiscuirse en esta conspiración que se extiende por la galaxia y que afecta a tantas personas.

Tal y como me pasó en This Shattered World, la primera parte del libro se me hizo un poco pesada y me costó más conectar con Gideon y Sofia que con los protagonistas del primer y segundo libro. Sin embargo, tiene a su favor que es un no parar, la acción es continua y a mitad de la historia, o incluso un poco antes, todas las piezas comienzan a encajar de una forma casi abrumadora, no sólo las de este libro, sino las de los otros, con la aparición de los personajes que ya conocemos y todo lo que los une que, al final, es muchísimo. Las autoras no han perdido de vista todo lo que establecieron antes y han seguido el desarrollo de la trama de forma magistral. Hay pocos libros tan scifi en el panorama YA, y a la vez creo que puede gustar no sólo a los fans de la ciencia ficción. Mi única pega es que hay mucha información que a veces puede llegar a ser algo confusa y que puede hacerse un poco pesado por momentos, pero realmente es algo necesario.

Puede que haya sido el libro que menos me ha gustado, principalmente por la primera mitad y porque han sido los protas que menos me han llegado (Lilac y Tarver siempre serán <333 y Lee y Flynn me gustaron más también), pero a pesar de ello ha sido un muy buen final en su conjunto y me ha encantado ver como todos los personajes se reunían y cerraban la historia. Estoy deseando leer la próxima trilogía de Amie Kaufman y Meagan Spooner, que también va a ser scifi.

Ummm yES. What a glorious ending. What an earth shattering series. From day one it captivated me. I feel like rereading it again. Review to come.

This was a satisfying end to the trilogy. I enjoyed meeting a new set of characters again. I liked how all three sets of characters came together in this one. It was a good way to wrap up the stories. Sophia and Gideon were a lot of fun. I enjoyed watching them try to fool each other, only to fool themselves, watching them learn to trust each other when everything says they shouldn't. Overall enjoyed this conclusion. ...more

This was an overall stellar and very satisfactory wrap-up to the Starbound series. There were lots of cool twists and turns and I thought that Gideon and Sofia made a good pair and I enjoyed the nods to Alice In Wonderland. I'm definitely looking forward to what Amie and Meghan write next. ...more
