This is a fantastic series. Love all the characters and that pacing is epic.
I love just about everything Maureen Johnson has written her characters are great and I love her stories. Her series tend to be quite different from each other but they are all good in their own right. Maureen Johnson is not only a great writer but she is also amazing on Twitter I highly recommend following her.
Stevie finds her way back to Ellington Academy by making a “deal with the devil”. Life is still going on after a death which she thinks is a murder and Ellie going missing. Book two moved much faster than the first book and I liked that there was at least one case solved by the end of the book.
This second book was better than the first in terms of enjoyment, and I was super frustrated at the ending. I thought the writing wasn’t as good however and I felt myself cringe a few times. Of course I’m going to immediately go to the next book.
These types of endings should really be outlawed. Now I must wait to find a copy and really there are so many other books due soon. Also wtf David geez. And not enough Mudge. And clearly we were in the middle of scene why is the book over?!
