Liked it a lot! But could have been better.
This book-
It was different-but beautiful
It dragged on- but it encircled you in the story
It was confusing in multiple parts- and yet it still weaved itself right through and tied it all back.
(Questionable) Pirates meet time traveling with maps and myths.
The general concept of the story was lovely! I definitely liked the mix of mythology and time traveling sailors. Although some of the myths and whole time traveling did throw me off at the beginning ...more

Well this was a lot of fun!
Fun things
- Super diverse cast.
We have the lovesick, time-traveling Captain Slate, who is chasing through time after a map to go back and save his true love from dying.
Kash: the fictional Persian thief
Bee: the African lesbian who is haunted by the ghost of her dead wife
Nix: the half-Chinese daughter of a time-traveling pirate and an opium den worker from Hawaii
- There’s also a tiny dragon
- And there’s a pirate ship that can travel anywhere in time, including fictional ...more
