This was a good book, but I didn't think it was a 4 or 5 star book. I also read it's being turned into a film/tv series starring Jennifer Garner. I will definitely watch that as I love Jennifer Garner.

Now to the book, it had a good plot that after a while really got going. There were a lot of threads and I never noticed the author losing her way. I definitely liked the writiing style. I just felt it was only worth 3 stars.

3.5 Stars. This is the first time I've read a book by Laura Dave. I enjoyed it. I was interested from the start to the finish. I think any lack of enthusiasm comes from just being really kind of bummed out. I think I'm bummed out in an existential way about the ways we should just be better human beings because the people that usually end up paying the highest price -- are usually just the innocent bystanders in our life.

This was a fast paced, somewhat unrealistic and an enjoyable thriller that I had trouble putting down. I liked the strong the main character and her moody teenager grew on me.
