Different in a good way, with excellent characterization.

This was one of my favorite books of 2018.
I loved how the story was told in the style of storytelling and fairy tales with details being added as parts are retold or revisited.

It may seem like there are too many characters to keep straight in the beginning, but as the book progresses, each character will be featured which in turn, reveals more details of the plot.

I found the whole thing to be delightful and fanciful and charming.

She lives but doesn't speak - who is she? There are three claims on her but are any of them legitimate? I loved the writing style and the atmosphere. Sometimes I got a little confused by all the characters but the ending was tidy and satisfying. ...more
