This one had been on my booklist for years, can't even remember why. It sure did suck, but it was an easy read. Rand-like anti communist propoganda, a computer controls the lives of everyone from name to chemical treatments that keep everyone happy. Our hero fights and wins against the machine, society and the man. The off hand rape scene was annoying, but you know how passionnate actions from such an enterprising protaganist can be forgiven. Or not. (December 08, 2003)

This was a good one! No satirical misdirection. Just pure dystopian fiction. Or is it? Medical injections? Bar code scanner bracelets you can't take off? Self-doubt? I enjoyed this book.
