i added some books to get this started, but i haven't read anything yet, so i'll unvote when (if?) some real votes start to come in.

There are three books for Heidi Murkoff on this list and they all refer to the same book but different edition:)
Sometimes you just need to read something not too intense, and Babyhood was a great reprieve from all the cerebral stuff. My husband would actually read this aloud to me - well, my belly really - once the baby was old enough to hear sounds outside the womb. It was so funny; we both had a great time, and I always felt that the laughs were good for the baby too!
I added a bunch... most of them focus on culture and biology rather than specific parenting "style". Some of them deal with children- and infant-care in history. :-)
