Hmm... I just realised that on this list there is a book that is majorly spoiled just by putting it on this list because it reveals the twist the author has been hiding the whole book. I am talking about (view spoiler)[Gentlemen and Players by Joanne Harris, currently #93 and voted by one person (hide spoiler)]. Personally I would prefer it wouldn't be on the list, even though I did think it was a good book but as I said, it completely ruins the reading experience.

I borrowed all Dutch editions I could lay my hands on of Enid Blyton's books about 'De Vijf' (Famous Five), all those years ago. For instance De Vijf en het gestrande goudschip. I absolutely loved those books :-) I must have been eleven or twelve when I read them and borrowed them from the local library at the time.Same goes for Dick en Dallie en de ponies, by the way. Loved it! :-)

I didn't vote for it, but Jo in Little Women (#10) can certainly be considered a tomboy 🙂
