message 10: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Wow, how many books is Brandon Sanderson planning to come out with this year?

message 11: by Grack21 (new)

Grack21 I'd bet money we see Windows of Winter before Doors of Stone.

message 12: by Grack21 (new)

Grack21 Also I don't think the new Tad Williams or Novik is due out in 2015, but I could be wrong.

message 18: by William (last edited Jan 02, 2015 11:48AM) (new)

William Har wrote: "Winds of winter confirmed to be coming out in 2028"
So it will be published two years before Doors Of Stone.

message 19: by Grack21 (new)

Grack21 Rothfuss Tweeted that there will definitely not be Doors of Stone in 2015. Not that anyone will listen.

message 20: by Andrew (last edited Jan 02, 2015 02:18PM) (new)

Andrew Obrigewitsch No one seems to be editing this list. There are books on here, that when you go to their pages, have dates like 2016 or later, especially some of the Brandon Sanderson books on this list.

This top 2 books won't be out this year. Neither will The Bastards and the Knives.

message 21: by Grack21 (new)

Grack21 Trust me, taking those off would do nothing, they'd be right back again. People are...not well informed.

message 22: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Obrigewitsch They would at least drop off the #1 and #2 spots, for top books of 2015, it's actually Ironic, as the top books wont even come out in 2015.

message 23: by Grack21 (new)

Grack21 Nah, people would vote them back up. Winds of Winter is still technically possible for Xmas 2015, but I seriously doubt it.

message 24: by FrogKnight (new)

FrogKnight this list is of course wrong. Brandon Sanderson has given accurate accounts of when his books will be coming out, and other than firefight, i don't believe any of his books are coming out this year.

message 25: by Grack21 (new)

Grack21 Really? There was a list on another site that quoted him as saying three were due out this year, but maybe I read 2016 as 2015. I mean, it is Sanderson, that man is some sort of inhuman writing machine.

message 26: by FrogKnight (last edited Jan 03, 2015 07:55PM) (new)

FrogKnight [redacted by S.H.I.E.L.D.] wrote: "Really? There was a list on another site that quoted him as saying three were due out this year, but maybe I read 2016 as 2015. I mean, it is Sanderson, that man is some sort of inhuman writing mac..."

Well, according to Sanderson; he will be coming out with the next mistborn novel(shadows of self) very late this year(2015 is this year, still getting used to it), and the next novel in the series(bands of mourning) will come out early 2016. I am also assuming that skybreaker will be coming out in 2016 and hes also working on the next Rithmatist book, which may also come out in 2016-2017. He says he is also working on the last book of the steelheart trilogy so that's expected 2015-2016.

Source: BrandonSanderson.com

So yea, he is a machine indeed. and I admit that I may have been a bit presumptuous with my earlier message :)

message 27: by Michael (new)

Michael Pang If 1/2 of the books I voted for come out in 2015, it will be a great year for reading!

message 28: by Grack21 (new)

Grack21 Ah the Sanderson explosion begins in late 2015, thats probably why I got confused.

message 29: by mike ells (new)

mike ells I guess SciFi readers don't vote as this list is chock full of fantasy crap.

message 30: by Jeana (new)

Jeana Budnick Added Nevermore by Rob Thurman, the latest Cal Leandros novel

message 31: by Avaminn (new)

Avaminn F'nett As far as I know, Doors of Stone and Winds of Winter don't come out this year.

message 32: by M.R. (last edited Aug 13, 2015 06:52PM) (new)

M.R. How can I vote for anything that's supposed to be science fiction when I can't even find it amid all this fantasy sludge??! Science fiction is a genre unto itself and shouldn't be mixed with futuristic fantasy, and yet that BS seems to be happening everywhere. I suspect it's designed to obscure the fact of how little pure sci-fi is available. Sure, I read a bit of fantasy now and then, but my real interest is in science fiction -- as in, it's based on extrapolations of **actual science** that are key to the plot.

I don't see any Ben Bova listed here, and he has TWO sci-fi books out in 2015. So does Kim Stanley Robinson -- Aurora and Green Earth, due out in November. Any number of real sci-fi authors aren't listed here. This list needs to be renamed FANTASY and separated from sci-fi, so the sci-fi readers can be heard. Will someone PLEASE create a list of pure sci-fi for us to vote on? Thank you!!!

message 33: by M.R. (last edited Aug 13, 2015 06:53PM) (new)

M.R. mike ells wrote: "I guess SciFi readers don't vote as this list is chock full of fantasy crap."

@Mike Ells: That's because Goodreads screwed up and didn't separate real sci-fi from fantasy to begin with. Here, I'll give you a few things to vote on:

William Gibson's new one: The Peripheral
Ben Bova: Power Surge
Ben Bova: Death Wave
Kim Stanley Robinson: Aurora
Kim Stanley Robinson: Green Earth

That's only a start.

message 34: by Grack21 (new)

Grack21 Entitled much?

message 35: by Jeana (new)

Jeana Budnick anyone can add books to this list. Plus, anyone can make a list for others to vote on. I don't think ranting because this list is "chock full of fantasy crap" is necessary.

message 36: by Mariel (new)

Mariel Maughan May I suggest Paramerion by M. Topping.

Zombieslayer⚡Alienhunter Peace Talks and The Aeronaut's Windlass.
