Thank you for this list! I had a copy of "Milestone Summer" when I was in Junior High and considered it just the epitome of teenage glamour and sophistication! I want to read all the others on your list.

I’m looking for a book I read when I was in junior high school. I don’t remember the title or the author but the main characters were named Marsha and Steve and I think he was in the army and they were in love. Anybody? Help!

It was called Marsha. I read it as a kid. I gave it to a friend of mine, so I don't have the name of the author or when it was published, but I read it about a million times.

Looking for a book title, main character older teen girl, large Irish (I think) family, single mom maybe. Mom has to go away, oldest is in charge, spends the money mom left to improve things in the house, nice towels etc so has to rent out a room. Might be part of a series, because I am thinking she wanted to be an actress and there is something about not getting a part with the Abbey Players. Read it early 70's so might have some out 60s

I am looking for a pre-teen book, published sometime in the early 1960's, about a girl named Dorcas who has supernatural powers. She uses a spinning top to access them. I believe she is an orphan and, at some point, gets mixed up in some intrigue involving an upstanding member of the community, who is anything but. In the books climax, this nefarious character traps her in a cave. I also remember a red scarf being given to her as a gift from a sympathetic and good stranger. This was a well-written book and compelling read when I was about 12. Any leads?

I am looking for a,teen girls book from the 60s where a girl and her model cousin get stranded in a snow storm and have to slide down a hill. There were other books by the author. One about a girl with a new stepdad and she learns to sail. I thought it was Betty Cavanna but that's not right. Maybe Cameron or Cavanaugh?

I'm looking for a book I read as a teen in the 1980s, I think it might have been a vintage romance or coming of age. A girl of no means comes to live with a family in the countryside (orphaned/poor). The family has an unpleasant daughter but a kind son who goes away (college? war?) and comes back. The girl is in love with him for how well he treats her. It's that kind of story where you're rooting for them to get together by the end. At one point they're on a walk and find an old silver spoon? He gives it to her and she keeps as a special treasure. Any ideas?
