No problem ... was going to do that anyway! :)
I can't, in all honesty, recommend these particular editions of the works that are translated into English (for instance, Jowett's Plato is strictly for masochists), but those books I picked on their more general merits.
Marquis de Sade is not essential reading, not erotic either--it's garbage written by a sick fuck who mutilated and killed young women. This reco is a bit like those assholes who say, "Ya know, Hitler had some good ideas.....". Simone de Beauvoir put it best:" DeSade set out to bugger the world, and the world answered him with silence."
