I guess modern day, but most of the books I read are set in the present written 50-200 yrs ago…

I wasn't sure, so created a spreadsheet of all the books I read in the last year or so, and to my surprise, modern day had almost as many books as all of the other settings combined.

Certainly, that'll count as modern day, I think. Familiar language, jobs, hobbies, and daily life.
