Yes, I'd try and get past it and look at other aspects of the film

I always like to give a good overall review. But usually the movie is never what the book was so I go in expecting a different experience anyway.

if it was my FAVORITE book, i would have to go see it just because. but if the main character was cast horribly i would be heartbroken but still try to get past it
yeah it would be weird if the character wasn't done the way you expected. Did you know Ben Affleck was almost cast for a part as Superman :O) that would have been so not good...Heck if they were gonna do that they could have gotten Seth McFarlane to play Lex Luthor LOL :o)
