Steampunk bunnies. Very interesting idea.

♥Xeni♥ I see what's going on here! New mass market paperback ideas!

EDIT: Oh oh oh! I got an idea!! Steampunk bunnies who team up with cyberpunk cats and solve crimes!!

message 55: by Traveller (new)

Traveller Maybe that's what all the conspiracy talk has been about. We thought they were just.. you know, bunnies that happen to be able to talk, but back at the ranch.. they are...

Tah-da-da-daaah!

DUN DUN DUN

Oh we forgot ZOMBIE BUNNIES! >> Horror genre
or
Vampire bunnies>> I think vampire fic has become a genre of it's own, so how many alternatives to plain old fantasy do we have by now? >> Vampire Fiction

I don't know enough about the story to know if it could go into >> Romance, but from what it sounds like, it could perhaps go into>> War?

Or how about >> Politics?

♥Xeni♥ Oh em gee! I think you struck gold with the politics idea. It could totally go as a reflection of the times.

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

Paranormal /vampire/zombie/steampunk/cyberpunk/mystery-thriller bunnies sound great. New ground breaking genre! Can't wait to see zombie element.

Definitely a reflection of our times.

message 59: by Brad (new)

Brad Maybe we should find someone to read WD to if it wins. Do it aloud.

message 60: by ♥Xeni♥ (new)

♥Xeni♥ What is this 'if' I read? Obviously no one else noticed the amazingness of the other books as much as WD.

Bunnicula, what a great title. Thanks. Added it. :)

What the hell? I need to pay more attention to poll comments.

message 64: by ♥Xeni♥ (new)

♥Xeni♥ You never read Bunnicula?!? That book STILL makes me check my veggies in the morning!

♥Xeni♥ wrote: "You never read Bunnicula?!? That book STILL makes me check my veggies in the morning!"

No. Delighted to find it! But is it going to make me paranoid about bunnies? I live in the country, could be stressful...

message 66: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Not only did I just add Bunnicula to my to-read shelf . . . I also "rescued" the Kindle edition.

Good deed for the day--done.

Ground breaking new genres not so groundbreaking after all. But does anyone know of a zombie bunny book? Huh? That's a challenge.

This is the funniest thread on goodreads. I've been bitten by a pet rabbit. Tried to disembowel my arm. I flung it away, then was mortified as it was my daughter's pet. Luckily all fine, he/she (never really knew) survived the incident, as did I.

message 77: by Traveller (new)

Traveller LOL....Looks like we're going to have lots of fun reading our bunny book. (If it wins, of course... but my faith is strong)

You guys are great!

Ack! A bunny on steroids! Sounds like a surreal experience...

It was. In a surreal state of bunny shock all day. Also plagued by guilt. Instinct kicked in. I flung him hard

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

I've been sitting on the fence, posting comments willy-nilly and avoiding the vote, but these extra previously unexplored (at least by me) dimensions to WD have confirmed my vote. So WD for me, it is. I'll never read it in the same way again.

Traveller Georgina wrote: "It was. In a surreal state of bunny shock all day. Also plagued by guilt. Instinct kicked in. I flung him hard ."

Yes, that's understandable; you must have had a big fright. I wonder why it acted that way though. Was it a mommy with babies? A territorial male, perhaps?

I was bitten by a white rat in a pet shop once, not sure why, but rats do bite. Once a squirrel in the park drew blood from my finger while I was feeding it peanuts. In that case, I think my finger simply looked like a peanut. :P Still, I went for rabies and tetanus shots just in case...Who knows, it could have been a rabid killer squirrel and I got off lightly. XD

I suspect Big Bunny (yes, that was what our daughter called it) mistook my hand for some kind of vegetable or food offering. Didn't show much remorse afterwards though. I suspect it was a slightly unhinged bunny (mother tame, dad a feral bunny) from the start. We did make peace, as the feeding duty always fell to me, and even a bunny knows that you don't bite the hand that feeds you...

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

Rabid killer squirrel. Now there's a thought.

message 84: by ♥Xeni♥ (new)

♥Xeni♥ My sister has kept rabbits as pets for the last decade or so. They are scary scary creatures. One of them loved to bite just for the taste of blood and the evil satisfaction, I'm sure of it!!

The others were more rabbity: they'd only bite if they got scared or such.

They are far tougher than they look. And moody! One day it's all cute twitching of the nose and chewing of the daisies, the next day it goes for the jugular (exaggerating a bit, it was my hand and arm. He/she latched on and used it's back legs to gouge me, teeth in my hand). But we still loved her/him (suckers!).

message 86: by ♥Xeni♥ (new)

♥Xeni♥ I find nothing adorable or amusing about rabbits. Am I missing something here?

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

I think if we read WD I'll be rooting for the other side. Fiver has suddenly become an entirely different character...

message 88: by Traveller (new)

Traveller Yes, all along I thought rabbits were these cute, soft, fluffy little creatures, and I'm already starting to see a totally darker side of them, and we haven't even started reading the book yet... <_<
