Goodreads asked Taylor Jenkins Reid:

How do you get inspired to write?

Taylor Jenkins Reid So often my ideas start incredibly small and start to snowball as I add more and more information. By the time I start writing a book, it's hard for me to remember what germ started it all in the first place.

In writing Forever, Interrupted I was inspired by the idea of losing something you barely had. My husband and I had eloped and I felt so attached to him despite barely knowing him. I wanted to write about that. And then other pieces started to come together as I began to consider what obstacles would make the situation more pressing.

For One True Loves, I was interested in telling a story in which the main character has no good answer. I wanted to tell the story of how someone navigates an impossible situation. What that situation became, who it happened to, and what it represented all came later in bits and pieces.
