Hi Joanne! I'm a new huge fan of yours. I finally got around to reading Chocolat, and it has immediately gone down on my all-time favorites list. I watched the movie the night after finishing the book. I always get a kick out of the variations, while trying to view them as separate entities. How much, if any, input did you have in the making of the movie, and do you like it?

I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. I got a courtesy involvement in the movie (which means that basically, I got to go on set and discuss her part with Juliette), but mostly I just sat back and enjoyed the show - and yes, I liked the film a lot, even though it wasn't quite the same as my book.
