I love Ella Enchanted! It was one of my favorites growing up. How did you come up with that story idea? I like to write myself, but I am dreadful at pulling things out of my hat. I find that when I have requirements, I do better... like school assignments, for example.

Gail Carson Levine ELLA ENCHANTED resulted from thinking about "Cinderella," because I'm not good, either, at creating stories out of thin air. Fairy tales help--also myths, tall tales, any story that has lasted for centuries. Even Shakespeare relied on old tales!
