You inspired me throughout my childhood both in reading your work, and working to write like you. How do you deal with fears about what you have to say and other insecurities in writing?

Early on, when I was learning to be a writer, I read a great book that helped me a lot with this: WRITING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BRAIN by Henriette Anne Klauser. You may find it helpful, too. I still go back to it.
