Hi Sebastien, Really loved Traitor's Blades as it made me dash back to the library to get Knight's Shadow and pursue the series! I am really intrigued as to what influenced you to create the Greatcoats and the Dashini Assassins?
Sebastien de Castell
Thanks for the kind words Mark.
To your question: the Greatcoats were initially inspired by the Justices Itinerant of 12th Century England who were sent by the King on circuits of towns and villages to hear cases. The Dashini came about because I wanted the Greatcoats – this order of expertly trained duelling magistrates – to have a kind of opposite order who they feared and who represented the antithesis of their own values.

Hi! First of all, I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved the Greatcoats series and it definitely has a place among my all-time favourite series! Second, I was curious about how you interpret Kest's feelings about Falcio - whether you see them as platonic, brotherly, romantic, or something else, and to what extent they influence Kest’s actions throughout the book? Thank you for all your wonderful writing!

Hello! Every time I read a book of the Spellslinger-series, I fall even more in love with this world. Are there going to be maps of all the countries for these books? I loved tracing my fingers along while reading the Greatcoats-series, and I would love to do the same with Kellen's adventures. I'm also terrible at remembering where every place is and a map would be simply awesome.
