I am up to date with the Anita Blake series & I started the Meredith Gentry series (on book 3 now). In the 1st Merry book there was Roane (I think that was his name), he was a Seal & Merry gave him back his power to turn into a Seal again. I was just wondering if this is the same character as the one in the Crimson Death book? It was the same name and they are both Seals. Is this considered a crossover?
Laurell K. Hamilton
Roane are what selkies, or seal people are called in Ireland. Since Crimson Death is set in Ireland then all of the seal folk would be Roane. The character Roane in the Meredith Gentry series used his people's name as his first name to keep a piece of his heritage with him even after he lost the ability to shift into his seal form. Roane and selkies as names for the seal folk are part of my research from folklore and myth in Ireland, and the UK. So no, it's not the same character.

This is kind of similar to my last question but slightly different so I feel justified in asking. Would you ever be willing to write short stories of her and her loves relationships deepening? What I mean by that is, Frost and Merry fell in love largely off screen. It would be nice to see just them going about their daily lives and/or hanging out and seeing what they fell in love with and how

when I am so far past in my pain (nerve damage caused while Active Duty) your books allow me to go to a "zone" that I tend to forget my pain and can read for hours. I even cry while reading from happiness. Not sure how you can write Anita and then switch to Mercy (who I just could not get into this series).... You are talented and thank you for sharing your gift especially since it draws you away from your family
