Sherily asked Laurell K. Hamilton:

I am up to date with the Anita Blake series & I started the Meredith Gentry series (on book 3 now). In the 1st Merry book there was Roane (I think that was his name), he was a Seal & Merry gave him back his power to turn into a Seal again. I was just wondering if this is the same character as the one in the Crimson Death book? It was the same name and they are both Seals. Is this considered a crossover?

Laurell K. Hamilton Roane are what selkies, or seal people are called in Ireland. Since Crimson Death is set in Ireland then all of the seal folk would be Roane. The character Roane in the Meredith Gentry series used his people's name as his first name to keep a piece of his heritage with him even after he lost the ability to shift into his seal form. Roane and selkies as names for the seal folk are part of my research from folklore and myth in Ireland, and the UK. So no, it's not the same character.
