Hi! First off- I just want to say how much I LOVE Three Dark Crowns! I'm an aspiring author and since you have a series with such an AMAZING plot (which I can say with confidence since I've read all the books and novellas!), how did you plan the plot? Did you plot as you wrote, or did you plot it all and then write it? Do you have any particular tips? It is my most difficult barrier when it comes to writing :)

For me at least, every book is different and I always have to figure out the way it wants to be written. The Three Dark Crowns series seems to want to be written one time very crappily and then completely over again less and less crappily until by say the third near complete rewrite it is finally what it set out to be. None of my other books have been like this. Three Dark Crowns is a very naughty thing and deserves to be grounded with no phone privileges.
In general though I am not a plot planner. I know conflicts and characters, and then I turn them loose on the page and write towards the future and usually very vague ending.

Kendare, Audiobooks offer me a great way to escape into stories while multi-tasking throughout my day. "Anna Dressed in Blood" really grabbed my attention and it's the first book of yours I've read. I'm very concerned if August Ross will be the narrator, though. His horrendous accents and campy voices are ruining your taunt pacing and exciting story line. Does the author ever have a choice on their narrator?

Could you explain a little more about the dynamic between the Queens/people of the island, and the mainland people? I could never get a feel for if they are ruled by the queen of the island, or if they just respect/revere them. What is the relationship between the two?
