Hi! This is a question about Bloody Rose. Why was Rose unhappy about Gabe letting her daughter with Clay? When they met I didn't get a bad vibe from their relationship (even tho the circumstances sure were peculiar). And how did Matty deal with the news?

Nicholas Eames Hi!

She wasn't! She was angry at him for leaving her close to the horde, but (to quote the book) "...her anger was doused by two simple words: the name of the man with whom Gabe had left their daughter..."

So basically Clay's name is all that kept her from taking her father's head off!

As for Matty, he hasn't heard of any of this yet, being way on the other side of the Heartwyld. Not sure if we'll see him react to it someday or not...
