I was wondering what was your inspiration for DIVIDED WE FALL? I love the book so much. Everyone always asks me what is your favorite book or book series. I always say DIVIDED WE FALL By Trent Reedy. I got 3 of my friends to like you. Please make more books.

You ask about the books being made into a movie. There has been some interest in making the books into a TV series, but I'll be honest, I think more people need to know about the books for that to happen.
You ask about my inspiration for DIVIDED WE FALL. This was a strange case. The idea for the border between Idaho and Washington state being closed due to military blockade came early to me, and I thought about a young Guardsman ordered to keep watch on the border to prevent crossings. Then I had to fill in all the "why." Why is the border closed? Why is the young man on duty? And I started writing the book right away.

You ask me to make more books. I have published 7 novels. Besides the DIVIDED WE FALL trilogy, I have published WORDS IN THE DUST, STEALING AIR, and IF YOU'RE READING THIS. Right now, my newest novel GAMER ARMY is available at Scholastic Book Fairs and Clubs, and will be available in bookstores in hardcover on November 27th. If you liked DIVIDED WE FALL, I think you will also really enjoy GAMER ARMY. I had so much fun writing that book.
