Does listening to the audiobook of 7 1/2 deaths do the book justice? Will I be missing something? I know there is a map that comes with the novel and I worry that not being able to go back and forth will make me lose some information.

The map is definitely helpful, as is the character sheet at the front of the book. However, the audiobook is excellent, and, if you don't have time to read or just prefer that format, it could work for you better.
