Hi Sebastien! I hope you're well - just two quick quarantine-induced questions (seeing as I've already reread Traitor's Blade in English and in French!) First, which of your books is coming next, and when? I can't wait but different sites are telling me different things! Second, do you happen to know exactly where to find The Red Lily, because I've not been able to find it on your site. All the best from Scotland :)

Hi Eve!
Play of Shadows, the first of a big new series set in the Greatcoats world, launches January 2021. Way of the Argosi (title may change), first of the Ferius Parfax duology, launches in April 2021. I may have another release later this year (2020), but haven't decided quite yet.
As for The Red Lily, I'd only sent it out on a one-time basis to my mailing list (you can join at my site if you haven't yet). However drop me a note through my contact page (decastell.com/contact) and I'll send it to you.

In Knight's Shadow Falcio is remembering a conversation he had with King Paelis after the King had killed a wannabe assassin. During that conversation Paelis says he could have every Duke, Lord etc. and their families killed. But we never hear why that would have been a good or bad idea. What if Paelis had gone ahead and killed the entire aristocracy of Tristia. What would have happened?

I really enjoyed the first two books and I am eagerly awaiting the third one. My one main issue with Knight's Shadow is how the rape of Falcio's wife is used as motivation for his character (such an overused fantasy trope) and graphic nature of the sexual violence in the book (more than the first). Has Falcio really put the past behind him and will future installments continue to dwell on this sexual violence?
