Connie
Connie asked Beth Kery:

When you decide on a story to write, and break it down into a series of short novellas, do you have a set plan? If not, have you ever changed the direction of a story in the middle of writing it?

Beth Kery Hi Connie. I don't write a serial as a novel and then randomly break it up into parts. Each serial segment is an episode, meant to be enjoyed in 8 separate periods of time. It's actually quite difficult to write the serial, adding a layer of complexity and planning.

I typically don't wholly change the direction of a story, as there is a known ending point. However, many times I change smaller aspects of the story as I write, and characters take on their own voice and direction.
