Ms George, I have to first tell you that you are my favourite author! I was wondering how the impact of this year, 2020, might affect your 22nd novel? I know you suffer from depression and anxiety and I hope you are coping with the stress of this year. I would be interested to discover its impact on Lynsey's job. Would you consider weaving 2020s impact on mental health through a future Lynley novel?

Thanks so much. I spent all of 2020 (and some of 2019) working on the 21st Lynley novel, so I was pretty much fine. If I have a creative outlet of some sort, I tend to stay fairly even with regard to depression and anxiety. I've just turned that novel in to my publisher, so we'll see how I fair over the next few months.
Because I try not to set my novels in any particular time (except when it comes to advances in science and technology), I don't plan to reference the pandemic in the next novel. It's been bad enough having to live through it once!
