I just finished reading The Children's Blizzard. Another book loosely based upon it is Lois Lenski's Prairie School. My question I loved the chapter of the animals sensing the upcoming blizzard, did you do any scientific research?

I did basic research into what kinds of animals lived on the plains and how each survived the winter. An easy afternoon of Google searching!

Swans was a great book. When you got to the part where Capote wrote 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', I took an interlude from your book and read it. I should have done it later when you mention 'In Cold Blood', but I really wanted to finish your book. Should I read 'In Cold Blood'? Not sure it's my type of book.
