Has anyone ever told you that you were not going to be a good author?

P.C. Cast Yep! I wrote a short story for a contest - I don't remember which one - but I was unpublished and hadn't finished a manuscript yet. One of the judges of the contest commented on my short story that I was not cut out to be an author. He also said a lot of specifically mean things about my writing in the story. That same short story won third place in another contest. It was the first money I made from my writing - $30.00! Don't let dream stealers cheat you out of a life fully lived.
