Goodreads asked Richelle E. Goodrich:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Richelle E. Goodrich For me, the best thing about writing is the time I spend in make-believe worlds where I share adventures with characters of my own design. It brings great joy into my days and often helps me cope with real life characters whom, unfortunately, I cannot shape to my liking with an enchanted ink pen.

Besides the daydreaming and getting lost in a fun story, my other favorite thing about writing is the creation process. I find it both thrilling and addictive. As a writer, I form everything in my head before describing it in words: people, worlds, cultures, music, dialogue, relationships, and so on. The possibilities of creation are limitless for a writer, and that is the allure.
